Trainee Veterinary Technician

Vetlife is a large veterinary practice with seventeen branches in Canterbury and Otago.  We currently have an opportunity for a trainee Veterinary Technician based in Central Otago.

You may currently be working in the dairy sector and looking for a career that will utilise your dairy knowledge, empathy with farming clients and animal handling skills.  You may wish to complete further relevant qualifications and there will be an opportunity to follow one of the Rural Animal Technician courses offered by Otago Polytechnic or Telford College.

As a trainee Veterinary Technician with Vetlife you will learn to perform a wide range of tasks, sometimes as a direct assistant to veterinarians or as an independent service provider for the practice, making this opportunity both varied and interesting.

Mixed Practice Veterinarian - North Otago

Vetlife currently has an opportunity for an experienced mixed practitioner to join our team in Oamaru.  One of the larger clinics in the Vetlife practice, Oamaru continues to grow and develop and is supported by a dedicated and professional team of vets, technicians, field representatives and customer service staff. 

The role will involve a mix of dairy, sheep and beef as well as companion animal work.  Ideally, you will have at least 3 years mixed practice experience and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills further, working alongside other experienced practitioners in the team.  As a large and diverse practice, we can offer a unique opportunity for the development of specialised knowledge and experience through collaboration with colleagues across the practice.  Salary and CPD allowance are competitively structured.

Central Otago Production Animal Practitioners - Alexandra

Vetlife has an exciting veterinary position available in Central Otago for experienced and motivated large animal practitioners with a strong emphasis on Dairy. The positions will involve the growth of existing client bases and developing relationships with new clients in and around the Alexandra area.

There is a strong focus on preventative medicine with the opportunity to work closely with Vetlife clients to assist them in developing their businesses.
