Puppy Preschool

Do you have a puppy that will not listen to you? Do you want a well socialised puppy? Are you having trouble with toilet training? If this sounds like you, then you need Puppy Preschool!

Puppy Preschool is the first step to a well trained and socialised puppy. The classes are made up of puppies from 6–16 weeks of age with a range of breeds and all sizes. Socialisation with all different puppies and people is important at a young age; the puppy learns how to appropriately interact and what behaviour is acceptable.

Puppy Preschool teaches training with positive reinforcement using treats, toys and praise. You learn how to reward the behaviours you want and how to avoid the behaviours you do not. Basic obedience is introduced such as sit, down, wait and come. This becomes a foundation for further training.

You will have the opportunity to discuss any challenges you are facing and advice will be given on the trickiest of challenges such as toilet training, chewing and play biting. The importance of basic puppy care is discussed such as vaccinations, de-sexing, keeping up to date with worming and de-fleaing and nutrition.

Hills Pet Nutrition sponsor Puppy Preschool throughout the Vetlife clinics. Hill’s Pet Nutrition supplies a wide range of pet food that caters to individual needs. Puppy Preschool attendees will receive a graduation pack including a graduation certificate, Hills food, treats, info offers and information on bringing up their puppy.

To enquire or sign up for Puppy Preschool, please contact your nearest Vetlife clinic for information. All puppies that attend must have had their first vaccination.
