Community-founded Vet Club Starts New Ashburton Clinic Build

The Central South Island Veterinary Club owns the Ashburton site and has begun construction of a new clinic for Vetlife Ashburton. This is a Vet Club-led and funded project. Vetlife will continue to lease the site and provide veterinary services from it.

The current building has served the community for decades. Parts of it no longer meet current seismic and operational requirements, and veterinary practice has changed considerably over that time. Replacing it creates an opportunity to build a modern, practical clinic that will support local clients, animals and the veterinary team for many years to come.

The new clinic is being built alongside the existing building, allowing Vetlife Ashburton to remain open while construction is underway. You will see fencing, demolition and site works, and there may be temporary changes to access as the project progresses. We will let you know in advance about anything that affects your visit.

Continuing a proud legacy

Vet clubs were established by farming communities to help secure veterinary services in rural areas. This development continues that legacy: local stewardship, long-term thinking and investment in the infrastructure needed to keep strong veterinary services in the district.
